'The Unseen Ocean' is an audiovisual work that connects our earth-bound existence with the cosmic realm, both conceptually and materially, using footage of the Microcosm Cloud Chamber at CERN, the European Organization for Nuclear Research. The work combines video of cosmic particles passing through the cloud chamber, with footage of a 'cosmic fluid simulation' device at the Deutsches Technisches Museum, and images from the Hubble Telescope's Deep Field survey. The work brings together the scales of subatomic and the cosmos, the effect of which produces a shift in perspective between the separation of the everyday world and such usually unseen realms. There is a sublime quality released in the manifestation of such cosmic particles, and the realization that we are intrinsically connected to the wider universe, in part through manifesting the invisible ocean of cosmic particles that are around us at all times. A version was exhibited on the ceiling of some big building, VIVID festival, Sydney
