Ari Pappadam made with best quality rice flour, asafoetida, red chilli powder, jeera. Keralites usually crush the pappad and mix with rice and sambar. Pappadam is an important item with Kerala meal. Ari Pappadam is used with meal or as snack.
Ingredients:
Rice flour 1 cup
Red chilli powder 1 tsp
Asafoetida 1/2 tsp
Turmeric powder 1/4 tsp
Jeera 1 ½ tsp
Salt as per taste
Water 1 cup
Method:
Mix all the ingredients with water accept jeera in mixer grinder
Add jeera and mix well
Make small and thin pan cakes in small plates and steam in a steamer for 1½ minutes
Remove the steamed pappadms from the plate and dry in sun lights till it become crispy
Heat refined oil in a pan and deep fry the pappadms
Serve with meal or serve as snack.
