Charlotte’s CityLYNX Gold Line is about to REOPEN

The CityLYNX Gold line phase 2 in Charlotte, North Carolina is expanding the CityLynx gold streetcar line that opened in July of 2015 as a 1.5 mile or 2.4 kilometer long demonstrator line. Phase 2 is adding 2.5 miles or 4 kilometers of track to the line, to allow the Gold line to run east-west through Downtown, or as it is known in Charlotte, Uptown. Construction on the line is complete, and pre-revenue testing is currently being carried out ahead of the line’s opening in August 2021.
