Split Fava Beans Rice | Split Broad Beans Rice

INGREDIENTS
Rice - 2 cups
Split Fava beans - 1 cup
Water - 6 cups
Groundnut oil - 3 tbsp
Mustard - 1 tsp
Cumin - 1 tsp
Green Chillies - 3
Garlic - 3
Onion - 1
Curry leaves - 2 strands
Turmeric powder - 1 tsp
Salt - 1 tbsp
Tomato - 1
Ghee - 2 tbsp
Note
1 tsp = 5 ml
1 tbsp = 15 ml
1 cup = 250 ml
PREPARATION METHOD
1. Heat 3 tbsp groundnut oil and splutter 1 tsp mustard, 1 tsp cumin.
2. Add 3 slit opened green chillies, 3 smashed garlic and saute for a minute.
3. Add 1 chopped onion, 2 strands of curry leaves and saute for 3 mins.
4. Add 1 tsp turmeric powder, 1 tbsp salt and saute till the onions become brown.
5. Add 1 chopped tomato and saute for 3 mins.
6. Add 30 mins soaked and drained 2 cups of rice and 1 cup of split fava beans and mix well.
7. Transfer the whole content to a pressure cooker add 6 cups of water, 2 tbsp of ghee and pressure cook about 2 whistles in medium flame.
8. Split fava beans rice is ready.
9. Do not mix it in the cooker itself. Carefully pour the pressure cooker’s content to a wider vessel then mix it.
