Chord progressions are the foundation of all our popular songs, and I'm often asked how to write a chord progression. Today I'll show you one of my favourite minor chord progressions, to really capture that sad or moody feeling. The first thing you'll need to do is figure out which minor chords you can use. That will depend on the key that you are in. To see our lesson on knowing which chords sound good together, just click here: /watch/4BJ725BaT2Ka7 We're in the key of G today, so I know that the minor chords in that key are Am, Bm, and Em. So that is the minor ii, iii, and vi (we use small roman numerals to represent minor chords). @paul2001net3 years ago " sniffle. Sniffle. Honk! " sorry, had to blow my nose! That was how i first understood chords when i was a little kid, on our hammond id="hidden4" t400and " g" for" e" and " a" fori thought the black keys were just there to help keep track of the white keys! I put keys on the back burner for some years while i learned guitar, which helped me make the diatonic connections for both. But it always bothered me not to go further with keys and now, after re-focusing for a few years, i' m finally starting to feel like a real piano player! Thanks for all the great lessons!. ...Expand
