Bistek is typically made of sirloin beef strips and onions and then slowly cooked in soy sauce and lemon or calamansi juice. Like mostly of Filipino dish bistek is easy to cook and only minimal ingredients is needed. With only this ingredients it still a delicious main course we Filipino love to eat with steamed rice. So let me share to you this simple recipe. Hope you like it. Bistek (Beef Steak) Recipe Ingredients: ½ Beef sirloin strips 11 pcs calamansi 2 onions, sliced into rings ¼ cup soy sauce ½ to 1 cup water White or black ground pepper Seasoning or salt Cooking oil Procedure 1. In a bowl combine calamansi juice, seasoning or salt and soy sauce. Marinate beef for 30 minutes or 1 hour. 2. Heat oil in a pan. Sautee onion until becomes soft. Stir fry marinated beef until color turns brown. 3. Pour marinade sauce and bring to a boil. Add water as needed. 4. Season with white or black ground pepper. Then simmer for 15 to 20 minutes or until meat is tender. 5. Turn off heat and add remaining onion rings. Cover to slightly cook the onion from the steam. Serve hot! ENJOY!
