What’s happening in this Vantage Point movie clip? GNN producer Rex Brooks (Sigourney Weaver from Alien and The Ice Storm) directs news coverage from a mobile television studio. The president (William Hurt of Body Heat and Children of a Lesser God) is shot twice as he reaches the podium, but is immediately exfiltrated. The journalist Angie Jones (Zoë Saldaña from Avatar) is covering the event from the shock when an explosion rings out outside the plaza. Rex asks Angie to put herself together and explain what is happening when a secondary explosion at the podium kills and injures numerous people, including Angie. Thomas Barnes (Dennis Quaid from Legion and Dragonheart) and Kent Taylor (Matthew Fox) are two secret agents assigned to protect President Ashton (William Hurt from Body Heat and Children of a Lesser God) at a summit conference on terrorism in Spain. Shortly after his arrival, the president is the victim of an assassination attempt. In the crowd, an American tourist (Forest Whitaker from Panic Room and Repo Men) filmed the entire scene. Rex (Sigourney Weaver from Alien and The Ice Storm), a reporter for an American TV channel, was also a privileged witness of the 15 minutes before and after the shooting. It is by following the reconstruction of these moments lived by these 4 characters that the terrible truth which hides behind this attack will be revealed to us. The action takes place entirely in Salamanca, Spain. However, only a few scenes were actually shot there, most of them having been filmed in Mexico.
