Saucy Cheesy Baked ziti is such a comforting Italian - American dish, just as delicious as lasagna. Baked ziti is so saucy and cheesy pasta casserole that is so flavorful and tasty.
INGREDIENTS
olive oil
1lb Italian Sausage
1 lb ground beef
salt and pepper to taste
1 Tbs Italian seasoning
1 large onion, minced
5 cloves of garlic, minced
1/4 cup tomato paste
28 oz Can Marinara Sauce
28 oz Can whole peeled tomatoes
1/2 tsp red pepper flakes
1 to 2 Tbs brown sugar ( i used 2 Tbs)
A handful of freshly chopped parsley
A handful of freshly chopped basil
16 oz Rigatoni, Ziti or Pene Pasta
15 oz Ricotta cheese
8 oz block parmesan cheese
1 and 1/2 lbs block of Mozzarella cheese
1 whole egg

@kaylagarcia81183 years agoA lot of people do not know this but you do not need to precook pasta or lasagna noodles if you are baking them in a sauce. Just like lasagna, bakes mac and cheese, pasta dishes you do not need to precook the noodles. Putting raw noodles into your dish to bake not only will cut down cooking time and un necessary steps but the noodles will add so much more flavor to your sauce.
