Torrey Pines State Park: Another Panga & Rescue

INCIDENT DATE/TIME: 6-8-20 am LOCATION: Torrey Pines State Park CITY: San Diego DETAILS: State Lifeguards found a 30′ foot Panga boat washed up on the beach at Flat Rock with 14 life preservers strewn on the beach. They searched the area but did not locate anyone. At approx 9:45 am, an older woman was crying for help in a canyon leading up to the Torrey Pines Golf Course and she was stuck on a cliff ledge. SD City Lifeguards and State Lifeguards made their way to hear and rescued her. She was transported to a local hospital to be checked on. A Border Patrol Agent told us that the smugglers and the group left her behind when she couldn’t keep up. The other 13 people disappeared into the dark. This is the 2nd boatload of people in the last 3 days at this location.
