These Shrimp or Prawn Patties are packed with a spicy filling in layers of buttery Puff Pastry.
Here are the ingredients and steps to make this recipe!
Shrimp or Prawn Patties
Filling
1 lb Shrimp or Prawn (approx 500 gms)
1.5 cup diced Onions
2 tbsps sliced green Chilli
2 tsps Ginger & Garlic paste
1/2 tsp red chilli powder
1/2 tsp Turmeric
1 cup diced tomatoes and mix it in
1/4 tsp black pepper
Salt to taste
1/2 cup finely chopped Coriander
Pastry
2 lbs Puff Pastry
Egg wash (1 beaten Egg)
Sesame seeds
Mince the Shrimp using a knife
Heat up some oil and saute the onions
Add the green chilli and add some salt to help it caramelize faster
Add the ginger and garlic paste
Add the shrimp
Add the spices and mix well
Add the tomatoes
Add the pepper cover and cook for 5 mins
Add salt to taste and the coriander
Roll out the puff pastry and cut into circles
One will go into the tart shell
Add the filling and brush the edges of another circle with egg wash and press to seal
Using your thumb and finger, press into the sides of the tart shell to seal tightly
Brush the surface with egg wash and garnish with a sprinkling on sesame seeds
Repeat the process
Bake in a 350 degree oven for 10 - 15 mins or more till golden brown
Should yield 24
