Ancient China military ranks, how did they do it? The Qin dynasty, famous for the terracotta army, was the first dynasty to ever unify the country, thanks to their strict legal system and strong military. They had a very detailed military ranking system, granted in a fair and straightforward way to all soldiers, independently of their background.
