New Rivian R1S 2022 - Excelent Electric Family SUV (Exterior & Interior Review)

Rivian has released its first earnings report since going public and revealed a lot of interesting new information in the process, including that it started deliveries of the R1S electric SUV. The seven-passenger 2022 Rivian R1S sport utility vehicle will be the second production vehicle from Rivian, a new electric-vehicle manufacturer based in Michigan. The Rivian R1S is an all-electric SUV aimed at consumers with active lifestyles. Both the R1S and the Rivian brand itself are new entrants in the SUV marketplace. The company says it'll start delivering R1S models to customers in fall 2021. It kicks off with a Launch Edition that starts at $75,500, but a more affordable Explore trim level will soon join the lineup alongside a more expensive Adventure model. The marque's advanced quad-motor system features an electric motor at each wheel and the peak performance figures are worth getting excited about. The R1S boasts a beautifully designed cabin with contemporary styling, fancy leather, wood trim, and two large displays. A 15.3-inch digital gauge cluster replaces analog instruments while a large 12.3-inch touchscreen on the dash controls media, navigation, and temperature adjustment. Second-row passengers also get a touchscreen at the back of the center console to adjust the climate control. The 2022 Rivian R1S will be available with three battery sizes: 105 kWh, 135 kWh or 180 kWh. The R1S has an electric motor at each wheel, depending on the battery size you pick. The R1S has up to about 800 hp and 900 lb-ft of torque. EPA-rated range for the launch model comes in at 316 miles, with 69 mpg-e. Rivian estimates range for the rest of the lineup between 240 and 400 miles on a charge depending on the battery chosen. Every version of the R1S has all-wheel drive, with an electric motor at each wheel; they'll all be able to tow more than 7700 pounds. Rivian says every model will be outfitted with hands-free driver-assistance technology, with the suite called Driver+.
