Singer Ustad Salamat Ali & Azra Riaz, Interview by Dr. Huma Mir

#Ustad Salamat Ali decided to make a career in music while he was a teenager attending a music show in #Quetta where the legendry #Mehdi Hasan left him spellbound. After initial training in classical music from his father, Ustad Sharif Khan, he honed his skills under the tutelage of Mehdi Hasan. In #1971, he made his debut from #Radio Pakistan, #Karachi. #Also Azra Riaz started learning classical music in #1974 and made her singing debut in #1977 with "Ab aur kya kisi say marasim", a ghazal by Ahmed Faraz which brought her critical acclaim and made her a #star.
