I've covered Dragon Ball primarily for years. I've covered pretty much the entire series and so I thought this would be the perfect challenge. Something that's just crazy enough to interest me. ONE PIECE! Eiichiro Oda's magnum opus and one of the longest running and certainly most popular manga series out there. Today I'll be reviewing and giving my first impressions on the filler arc of G8 (G-8) and chapters covering Log Ring Long Land of One Piece 100% blind. I've since completed: PART 1 - Romance Dawn, Orange Town, Syrup Village & Baratie. PART 2 - Arlong Park & Loguetown. PART 3 - Reverse Mountain, Whisky Peak, Little Garden & Drum Island. PART 4 - Alabasta PART 5 - Jaya & Skypiea Is One Piece all that it's cracked up to be? Or was it worse than I thought. @MrMarinus184 years ago What makes g8 so beloved is that it isn' t reallybecause it actually does show us something new that we haven' t seen before. this showed so much more of the marines and actually took a look at how a marine base operates. We just haven' t seen that.

I love that scene when condoriano is taking out all the marines i also really like the joke of luffy having that octopus in his pants and how it takes the crew a while before it registers.
or usoph accidently having the tone dial and it saying the same sentence he used to troll zoro with.
g8 just has a lot of great jokes. Even some coming from the marines like jonathan' s discomfort with the eccentric unit 50. I always love it when characters that are 90% serious actually do have some subdued comedy moments. ...Expand 5

This is so far my favorite by watching these i' m instantly thrust back to the time i spent on this anime. I' ve watch one piece since the beginning, watching it first on 4kids before i fortunately found the japanese version and fell in love with it. The emotions i felt then is all coming back as i watch you go through it for the first time and it brings me so much joy to see you enjoy the ride i' ve been on for so long.

You can really feel the also, your criticism and analysis are always on point and they' re making me notices a lot of details i' ve never picked up before. @rroadagain28104 years ago While most other people seem to be focused on what' s yet to come, i' d like to focus on something else.
and that' s the fact that i' m however, i think it brings up a lot of good things with it. It' s kind of a breather between bigger arcs, but it' s not wasted either.
you can take note of several things here. Like you said, both foxy and aokiji serve to showcase that luffy has his limits, but in the case of foxyafter we had bellamy go on about bounties as powerlevels, and then get completely demolished by luffy, someone with a bigger bounty, someone might actually accept that claim as being true. It wasn' t the intent of that scene, but y' know. Here we have foxy, someone with a relatively low bounty, not only have a massive crew, but also personally more or less drew against luffy, if not for that lucky break.
this again showcases that bounties are so much more: foxy had a low bounty because he focused on amassing this crew by challenging other pirates. He' s not viewed as a threat, because he' s not partaking in many illegal activities. ...Expand 9

Chopper is my favorite Strawhat cause he kind of brings the best of both worlds. He has the goofiness and fun of Luffy and Usoph but also the serious mentality and focus of Robin and Nami.
Also I love those moments he get's seriously offended by people abusing the power of medicine for selfish purposes. To me that shows he's not just a doctor by occupation. He truly cares about his craft and is deeply invested in it and since he's so invested I am too.
I like Franky too though I would really love for him to have some kind of moral confrontation with a fellow engineer. That he can show just how much engineering means to him. .. ...Expand 3

The way your predictions matches thoose some of us had while going through the story on our first thanks for the great work from both you and to the editor. The dynamic between you guys are awesome, the way that the editor gives the viewers information that you don' t have but that he does is a brilliant way to make theese episodes into something truly spectacular. Props to both of your amazing work and i' ll see you next week as you finally get to cover what is in my eyes some of the best writing in all of one piece.

while there isn' t any single individual that challenged luffy, zoro and sanji in battle, they always feel like they need to be on the move and be careful. It doesn' t overstay its welcome, it uses the dials in a cool way, it' s funny and it actually foreshadows important plot points for water 7.
while the idea that they happened to land right there is an extreme coincidence i actually like this because of its absurdity. They were just lucky enough to land in an enemy territory. And to me it felt similar to how the skypea started. They just happened to be underneath a ship falling from the sky. Bad time, bad place, almost got crushed. This was a ridiculous coincide, so i thought it was ironically appropriate for them to land in an extremely coincidental place. Bad time, bad place, almost went to jail.
i am glad you got to review it.
that being said. Foxy was annoying. He was annoying in the anime, he was annoying in the manga, he was annoying in the anime' s filler arcs that bring him back and extend his stay in the anime beyond what i ever wanted him to be present. No joy for me there. ...Expand 1
