Harriet Shing's ‘big promotion’ 2 weeks after release of housing policy statement

Victorian MP Harriet Shing received a “big promotion” in newly-appointed state Premier Jacinta Allan’s cabinet shakeup, according to The Australian’s Victoria Political Reporter Rachel Baxendale. Ms Baxendale said Ms Shing taking the housing portfolio from Colin Brooks is “pretty significant”. “Harriet Shing, who only entered the ministry a reasonably short time ago ... has been given that responsibility,” Ms Baxendale said. “It’s only a fortnight since the then-Andrews government handed down its housing policy statement, basically, its vision for housing policy reform in the next decade. “They’ve really highlighted that as an area that they want to make serious reform in."
