Surf Expo 2021- Interview with Jimmy Blakeney and more

Last weeks's Surf Expo felt a little weird. Due to the pandemic, many vendors were absent, there were many empty aisles and there was not much traffic on the floor. We still had a good show, actually one of the best shows ever in terms of orders written. The buyers that did show up were serious and ready to order. Most sporting good retailers have done well over the last year and one of the main concerns is not being able to get enough inventory to sell due to supply shortages. So overall, the show went well for us. If you have watched any SUP instructional videos on YouTube, you have most likely seen some of Jimmy Blakeney's videos. I asked him about SUP Tips, his current position with Tahe Sports and about the brands they sell. My good friend Fabrice Beaux who now lives in Costa Rica came to Orlando to help me at the Blue Planet booth and we stayed with his brother, Max Beaux who lives in Orlando with his son Zachary Beaux. The original soundtrack was recorded the evening after the show- we had a good laugh. We are already planning to go back in September 2022.
