Rescue work continues after deadly mudslide in Japanese seaside city of Atami

At least two people were killed and around 20 others were missing as of July 4 after the incident that swept more than 100 houses away. Earlier in the week, heavy rains had pounded the seaside city in Shizuoka prefecture, on the Izu Peninsula southwest of Tokyo. Japanese Prime Minister Yoshihide Suga said after an emergency cabinet meeting the day after the disaster that the number of people missing could rise as rescue work continues.
